How to take advantage of the School Admin Data Dashboard

The School Admin Data Dashboard allows you to view data and gain insights at the school level.

You can access it by clicking on the Data tab in the purple sidebar. You will see at least two tabs at the top of the Data page: School Admin View and Personal View. If you are a District Admin user, you will also see a District Admin View tab. For more information on the District Admin Dashboard, check out this help article.

At the top of the School Admin View, you'll find two dropdowns: one to select a school in your district, and one to select a time range. The time range defaults to the current school year, but you can also filter to Last Month, Last Week, Today, or a Custom date range.

Overview Statistics

Below the filters, you'll see three stat tiles giving you a quick pulse on your school:

• Total boosts of joy: The total number of hilights received at your school (hover the ⓘ icon for more detail)
• Hilights sent: The total number of hilights sent by your staff
• Hilights celebrated: How many times hilights at your school have been celebrated with the ✨ button

These are great for setting goals and tracking momentum throughout the school year.

Hilights Sent by Core Value

This donut chart shows the breakdown of hilights sent by each of your district's core values. Use it to understand which values your staff are most frequently recognizing each other for and which ones might benefit from a little more intentional focus.

Participation this School Year

This section shows four gauge metrics at a glance:

• % of hilights sent by staff vs. % sent by admin — helps you understand where recognition is coming from
• % of staff who have sent at least one hilight — a measure of how broadly your staff has engaged with Hilight
• % of staff who have received a hilight — helps you spot whether recognition is reaching everyone

These gauges are especially useful for understanding whether Hilight has become a habit across your whole school or is concentrated among a smaller group.

Staff Recognition this School Year

This chart shows how many hilights each staff member has sent or received, broken down by core value. Use the Hilights Earned and Hilights Given tabs to toggle between views. This data helps you identify your Hilight champions (your top senders) and flag anyone who may need some extra support or encouragement.

Engagement Tables

At the bottom of the dashboard are two side-by-side tables:

• Staff Who Have Not Received a Hilight this School Year
• Staff Who Have Not Sent a Hilight this School Year

Both tables include each staff member's first name, last name, role/job title, and user type. You can filter and sort by any column. Use these lists to direct your outreach — whether that's making sure someone feels seen, or nudging a colleague to start recognizing others.

Each table has an Export button in the bottom corner that lets you download the list as a CSV.
