Enabling Mobile Notifications
Stay up to date on the recognition happening at your school. Hilight can send you mobile push notifications when you receive a hilight or when a colleague celebrates one of your hilights.
When you first log in to Hilight when using the mobile app, you'll see a prompt asking if you'd like to turn on notifications.
- Tap "Turn on Notifications" when the Hilight prompt appears
- Tap "Allow" on your device's system prompt to grant notification permissions.
- You're all set! You'll start receiving notifications on your mobile device
Customize your Notification Preferences
You can choose which notifications you receive and how: in-app, by email, or via mobile. To manage your preferences:
- Go to the Account page by tapping Account on the purple side bar or in the mobile drop down menu.
- Click the Notifications tab at the top
- Toggle each notification type on or off for In-App, Email, and Mobile channels
Didn't see the prompt? Enable notifications manually
If you dismissed the in-app prompt on your phone or didn't see it, you can enable mobile notifications directly through your device settings:
On iPhone or iPad (iOS):
- Open Settings on your mobile device
- Scroll down through the apps until you see Hilight and tap it
- Tap Notifications
- Toggle Allow Notifications on
- Customize alert style, sounds, and badge preferences as desired
On Android:
- Open Settings on your device
- Tap Apps (or Application Manager depending on your device)
- Find and tap Hilight
- Tap Notifications
- Toggle Allow Notifications on
